down the Iveragh Peninsula through the Ring of Kerry,
traipsing through terrain only the hardiest hikers

the garrulous owner of Killarney Riding Stables, offers
a variety of inn-to-inn rides that last up to six
days.

At first glance, most of these horses were from what
I would call beautiful. Many were large Irish draft
cross-breads, shaggy fetlocks and all. While I was
not impressed by their looks, my initial misgivings
quickly changed to great admiration for the animals.
